Our staff is among the best in the industry. Mel Krieger, the guru of flycasting instruction, trained our instructors in his methodology. All of the teaching staff has been certified by the Federation of Fly Fishers as Casting Instructors or Master Instructors.

3-Day Fly Fishing Seminars

Our 3-Day Fly Fishing Seminars are some of the most comprehensive fly fishing schools in the country. The focus of the 3-Day program is fly casting, starting with the basics and building up to the advanced. In addition, we offer workshops on entomology, reading the water, knot tying, equipment, and more.

Antelope Creek Lodge in the shadow of Mt. Shasta is our instruction campus and the classroom includes miles of private stream, and two pristine lakes. All equipment, meals, lodging, instruction, and full use of the angling options at the ranch are included in our clinics.

Graduates of our 3-day Seminars feel confident they can successfully tackle any fishing scenario.

Spey Casting Clinics

Our classroom is the Sacramento River, and instruction is held entirely on the water, using jet boat transportation to access gravel bars where techniques are learned and put to the test in actual fishing situations. Students choose between introductory floating line courses or seminars where advanced sink tip instruction is put into practice OTW (on the water), in practical moving water conditions.

The Fly Shop’s Master Instructors and seasoned travel staff has put together a school dedicated exclusively to bonefish, permit, tarpon and snook. The Fly Shop's Saltwater Fly Fishing School is held annually at Belize River Lodge and offers learning opportunities for anglers of all skill levels.

We can schedule private workshops here in Redding near our store, or for groups our Antelope Creek Ranch is the perfect teaching facility and accommodates as many as 14 guests comfortably.
