One of the wonderful things about fly fishing is that there is always something more to learn. Whether you are just getting started in the sport, or have pursued a variety of species around the globe, The Fly Shop^® has a school for you!

Our staff is among the best in the industry. Mel Krieger, the guru of flycasting instruction, heads the staff and has trained the instructors in his methodology. All of the teaching staff has been certified by the Federation of Fly Fishers as Instructors of Master Instructors.

3-Day Fly Fishing Seminars
Our popular three-day schools emphasize fly casting fundamentals and will introduce students to the basics of fly fishing. Each instruction-packed lesson builds on the previous session, preparing both beginning and intermediate anglers for just about any fly fishing situation, from Alaska to Argentina.

Expert instructors are on hand to guide students through the course, and our low teacher-student ratio ensures a comfortable and personal atmosphere, with plenty of individual time and attention. An abundance of material is presented during the school and the practice sessions and lessons are presented in a fun and relaxed fashion. The seminar topics include:

• Casting fundamentals, from the roll cast to the double haul.
• Tackle Basics (selecting the right gear for each individual)
• Practical fly fishing knots
• Fly fishing strategis and tactics:

• Dry Fly
• Nymphs
• Streamers
• Reading the Water
• Hooking, Landing, and releasing fish

• Elementary and practical fly fishing entomology.

The school is held at The Fly Shop's^® Antelope Creek Ranch. This beautiful property is managed to provide the fish and fauna with the habitat required to help them flourish. It is a rare day that goes by when deer are not spotted grazing in the meadow that adjoins the lodge, and rising fish are a frequent distraction on the stream and both trophy trout lakes.

Guests are accommodated on a double occupancy basis in well-appointed rooms with full baths. All meals are provided beginning Thursday evening when instructors and students get to know each other and continue through lunch on Sunday as the guests prepare to depart.

All equipment required for classes will be provided. You will also receive a comprehensive notebook that will be a permanent record of all the subjects that were covered in the classes and a handy reference for future use.

After completion of one of The Fly Shop's^® 3 Day Fly Fishing Seminars, students will walk away with an understanding of the basics of casting and with enough knowledge to feel compentent on the water. What's more, students will have a good foundation to continue their study and growth in the sport of fly fishing and fly casting.

3-Day Women's ONLY Fly Fishing School
Each year we put together one of our 3-Day fly fishing seminars, catered exclusively to women interested in learning more about fly fishing. This comprehensive three day seminar includes basic casting skills, tackle, entomology, presentation, fly selection, leader construction, dry fly and nymphing techniques, and much more. Seminars include three days of instruction, three nights accommodations at Antelope Creek Ranch, and all meals and equipment.

Fee:
• $945 - per person based on double occupancy.
